SOUTHMAYD, TEXAS is one of the best places to experience small-town Texas. Situated between Sherman and Gainesville, Texas on Highway 56, Southmayd provides a small town atmosphere while remaining in close proximity to the amenities of larger cities, jobs and recreation.

Southmayd Volunteer Fire Department Garage Sale

If you are interested in donating, please bring to the Volunteer Fire Department (2605 Elementory Drive) or Southmayd City Hall (4525 Elementary Drive).
Please come join in the fundraiser. It will be held on Saturday, May 26th and Sunday, May 27th. All of the profits will be going to the Volunteer Fire Department. If you have any questions please call the Fire Dept at 903-893-1234 or City Hall at 903-868-9420.

Public Hearing

The City of Southmayd will hold a public hearing on May 17, 2012 at 7:00 pm in the City Hall at 2425 Elementary, Southmayd, Texas. The Purpose of the hearing is to hear comments on amending the Ordinance 278

City Hall will be closed May 28, 2012 for the Memorial Day Holiday.

General Information

City Council regular meetings are the 2nd Tuesday of the month.
Planning & Zoning regular meetings are on the 1st Monday of the month.
Southmayd Industrial Economic Dev. Corp. regular meetings are the 3rd Mondays of January, April, July and October.
Southmayd Community Dev. Corp. regular metings are on the 4th Mondays of February, May, August and November.
